Women Run Ultras is about women supporting women to find the courage to access their own limits and find a community they belong in on the trails.
This was where the Women’s Spine Support Group started, but it has been in the background of all my training and Spine Races so far – nothing beats a community of trail friends.
This is where our journey towards maximising our own potential starts; with a healthy body, a healthy approach guided by expert input.
I’m excited; I’ve grappled with sickness, injury and recovery over the years and I’m keen to make sure any races I have left are as enjoyable as they can be – the joy of sport is we never stop learning.

Advice
We aim to address all female runners and endurance athletes of all ages and abilities to outline the knowledge you really need on female health and nutrition for the Spine Race, and all endurance support.
Getting the basics right to maximise our own health, longevity and performance in our sport matters more than chasing the final 1% to gain an ‘elite edge’.
What have we already achieved?
In less than four months we have:
- Built an active virtual community of over 350 Spine-focused women
- Began Spine-focused weekly webinars covering entries, training, mandatory kit, drop bags, looking afer your feet and a detailed look at Spine checkpoints.
- Held an inaugural Spine training weekend for 28 people in the Lake District. These weekends create physical communities that translate into training and recce groups and – most importantly – trail friends.
- Sold out a second Spine training weekend in Wales in October in just seven minutes.
- Discovered what Spine women want and the barriers they face – so we’re working on how to break these down.
We are focused on showing how to take the right next steps into ultra-running, wherever you are in your journey.
